Who organizes Family Summer?Family Summer is organized by a group of Houston, Texas families under the auspices of the International Federation for Family Development (“IFFD”). IFFD is a global organization with chapters in 59 countries that works to promote and support a broad variety of initiatives for families and married couples.
The organizers traveled to Spain in August 2013 to participate in and learn about Verano Diferente (A Different Summer), an initiative that is the inspiration for Family Summer and that has enjoyed much success in that country for over 15 years. Family Summer is not for economic profit. The only profits gained in FS are the joy felt by the attending families and the hope that they will continue to share this joy with others in order to build, little by little, a better world.
